Cadets help celebrate Belgian Remembrance parade

Royal Navy sea cadets join Belgians in Whitehall for their Remembrance parade

SEA cadets from HMS Belfast moored by Tower Bridge took part in Sunday's Anglo-Belgian Remembrance Parade at the Cenotaph.

They were joined by Belgium cadets who were in London to take part in the Whitehall parade to remember fallen Belgian soldiers from two world wars and other conflicts. It is an annual event held the day before the Belgian National Day.

Defence Secretary Des Brown laid a wreath and took the salute as the cadets marched past. Veteran soldiers and naval officers marched with banners from towns where conflicts took place.

The Belgian navy was also in town when the minesweeper command ship Godetia arrived in the Thames last Thursday.
