The true story of two male penguins in New York’s Central Zoo is to be brought to life in a new children’s show at a Limehouse theatre.

The play tells the story of Roy and Silo, two male chinstrap penguins who tried to hatch a rock instead of an egg.

The story is told through music, dance and storytelling.

Director Paul Bosco McEneaney said: “We have created a truly unique and uplifting theatre piece for young audiences and their families to enjoy.

“Penguins is a highly visual, non-verbal performance with beautiful music, wonderful magic and a message of love and family that we hope will leave a lasting impression.”

The show, which was put together by the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, runs twice daily from March 1 to March 3 at the council funded Half Moon Theatre. Tickets are £7 and available at halfmoon.org.uk or 0207 709 8900.
