Transfer news: Jordan Rhodes could be on his way out of Huddersfield
Blackburn boss Steve Kean believes he can beat Premier League clubs to the signing of Huddersfield Jordan Rhodes.
The striker, who has been linked with Aston Villa, Everton, Fulham, Man Utd, Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham, was in sensational form last season scoring 40 goals.
Kean said: “I can confirm that we have a bid in for Rhodes, and are also interested in other players.”
Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson revealed two weeks ago that Rhodes can leave, but only for the right price.
“Our stance hasn’t changed,” Grayson is quoted in the Sunday Mail. “It would take a serious offer to tempt us to sell.
“The chairman Dean Hoyle and I have spoken to Jordan about where we want the club to go. He’s happy with the situation and so are we.
“It’s business as usual. Jordan returned for pre-season and got straight down to work.”
Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas is keen to build his team around Gareth Bale next season, and stressed that significant investment was required in order to bridge the small gap between themselves and Arsenal.
