Transfer news: The Eagles are looking to bring in two attack minded Premier League youngsters
Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman is looking to sign two players on loan from Premier League clubs.
The Eagles have struggled to sign players this summer – bringing in Joel Ward, Peter Ramage, Aaron Wilbraham and loaning in Aaron Martin.
“I can tell the fans right now that we’ve got one or two exciting loans lined up,” he told the Croydon Advertiser.
“Will it happen? I’m not sure, but with the contacts I’ve got, there’s one or two lined up which should please the fans.
“Both players are attack-minded in midfield on the wing and up front, because I just feel that when you take a young player on loan defensively, it’s either to cover you or for an injury.
“I can understand the fans’ frustration for not signing one or two names, but we’re on a strict budget.
“We’re just trying to wait for that market and the fans should trust me because we’ve gone in the loan market before and we’ve done well.
“We’ll be looking at attack-minded players from the Premier League, so hopefully, they both come off because it will be exciting for the fans.”
Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas is keen to build his team around Gareth Bale next season, and stressed that significant investment was required in order to bridge the small gap between themselves and Arsenal.
