Transfer news: Boss John Still admits Rob Edmans won’t start this term
Rob Edmans has been loaned to Macclesfield after Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still revealed he would be at the bottom of the pecking order.
The 25-year-old striker joined the Daggers from Chelmsford City last summer while recovering from a broken leg, but after struggling for fitness and appearances he was loaned to Dover Athletic.
“We’ve decided to loan out Rob,” Still told the club’s official website. “Obviously he had a broken leg when he joined us last season, but he got over that, trained well and when the season ended he was fine.
“He’s come back in pre-season and he’s trained OK but I just feel that he wouldn’t start for us this year as he has lost a lot of game time.
“The opportunity for him to go away and get some games came up and I think it will be great for him. He’ll hopefully come back truly match fit which would be a plus for us. We wish him luck in his loan spell and look forward to him coming back and really pushing hard for a place.”
Edmans will stay with the Silkmen for 93 days and could make his debut tonight as they visit Hereford United to kick-off the Blue Square Bet Premier season.
Atletico Madrid insist they are ready to let star striker Radamel Falcao leave the club.
