New signings Mladen Petric and Sascha Riether will make their debuts for Fulham as Martin Jol’s side take on Norwich at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

Wantaway forward Clint Dempsey has been left out and fined a week’s wages after refusing to play for the Cottagers, who are also without Kerim Frei (pelvis), Philippe Senderos (foot) and Zdenek Grygera (knee), while former Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega must settle for a place on the bench.

21-year-old Sweden international Alexander Kacanicklic steps into the central midfield position vacated by the departed Danny Murphy.

Norwich midfielder Wes Hoolahan, who has struggled with an achilles problem, is on the bench for the Canaries while Anthony Pilkington has won his race to recover from a hamstring injury and starts.

Fulham: Schwarzer, Riether, Hughes, Hangeland, Riise, Diarra, Ruiz, Kacaniklic, Dembele, Duff, Petric. Subs: Stockdale, Kelly, Baird, Sidwell, Kasami, Rodallega, Halliche.

Norwich: Ruddy, Martin, Bennett, Turner, Tierney, Surman, Howson, Johnson, Pilkington, Snodgrass, Holt. Subs: Rudd, Morrison, Vaughaun, Hoolahan, E Bennet, Lappin, Barnett.
