David Forde was unhappy with his side’s performance in the first-half against Boro

Millwall goalkeeper David Forde issued a harsh assessment of his side’s performance against Middlesbrough in the first-half.
Boro could have been out of sight at The Den with Lukas Jutkiewitz missing three chances early on before Marvin Emnes put the visitors 2-0 up.
Darius Henderson pulled a goal back prior to half-time and despite the Lions dominating the second-half Curtis Main sealed the win for Middlesbrough.
“The first half was not good enough,” Forde told London24. “We didn’t match them at the start. They outran us and outplayed us.
“We put on a really good performance in the second half.
“We could have scored but we didn’t in the end and it was costly and they managed to get a third.”
The Republic of Ireland international believes his side must take their chances at home if they are to end their run of home form.
“We’ve had periods and spells where we just haven’t scored and we need to take advantage of those situations,” he added.
Millwall travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday.
“We would all love to see a thrilling and open game of football, but I know that I will take a boring 1-0 victory.”
