Transfer news: Sergio Ramos thinks Luka Modric would be a great signing for Real Madrid
Sergio Ramos is the latest Real Madrid star to sing Luka Modric’s praises as the Spanish giants continue their pursuit of the Spurs midfielder.
Jose Mourinho’s side are reportedly leading the race to sign Modric, who is also a long-term target for Manchester United, but Spurs are believed to be holding out for £40million.
With three years left on his contract at White Hart Lane, the north Londoners insist they will not let the 26-year-old go cheaply.
But defender Ramos admits he is an admirer of the Croatian and thinks he would fit in well at the Bernabeu.
The Spain international came up against Modric at Euro 2012, as well as for Real Madrid in the Champions League.
“Of course I have seen him,” Ramos told AS. “We played against him at the Euros.
“I like good players and Modric is one of them, but at the moment I can’t say anything else,” he continued.
“If he comes I’m sure he could contribute.”
