West Ham striker Carlton Cole has committed his future to the Hammers, in light of apparent interest from other clubs.

The England international has constantly been linked with a move away from Upton Park, and only last summer the Hammers accepted a £6million bid from Stoke City for the 28-year-old.

However, Cole was reluctant to leave London to move up north, and chose to stay to lead West Ham’s quest for promotion to the Premier League.

The former Chelsea man has scored eight goals this season for the Hammers and is seen as first-choice striker by manager Sam Allardyce.

“I told everybody at the start of the season, I’m there for the whole season,” said Cole. “Next season I want to be here at West Ham again, I’m not looking to move.

“Obviously when you’re connected to other teams it’s a bit unsettling and unnerving sometimes, but I know the chairman has got 100 per cent faith in me and he wants me to do well, the manager as well.

“I’ve got no reason to move at the moment. I love the club and feel that I have a lot left to give.”

Meanwhile, on Allardyce’s search for another striker, it is understood that the Hammers have returned with an improved bid for Watford striker Marvin Sordell.

The England under-21 star was first linked with a move to Upton Park a week ago, and it is thought that West Ham’s initial offer of around £2m was rejected by the Hornets.

However, the Hammers are understood to have returned with an improved £3.5m bid for the striker, who has scored 10 goals this season.

And Sordell has admitted that he finds the interest in him from the Hammers and other clubs flattering.

“The speculation is flattering to be honest, but at the end of the day I need to keep my head down and keep playing football and that’s what I intend to do,” he said.

“Obviously any footballer wants to do well. People have been noticing me and giving me attention which shows that I must be playing well. I just want to continue doing that.”

In terms of potential departures, it is understood that Freddie Piquionne’s move to Wolves has collapsed. The Hammers are looking to move the Frenchman on, and there is now rumoured interest from Celtic and Avram Grant’s new team, Partizan Belgrade.
