League Two: Cheltenham 2 AFC Wimbledon 1
AFC Wimbledon replaced Plymouth Argyle at the foot of League Two after losing 2-1 at Cheltenham.
The Dons had made some progress in February, going four games unbeaten but they were up against it after ten minutes at Whaddon Road.
Steve Elliott headed the opener for the Robins before Darren Carter fired the 11 minutes after the restart.
Brennan Dickenson pulled one back for Wimbledon but it was not enough to change the outcome of the match.
Wimbledon host managerless York next Saturday after Gary Mills was sacked today following the Minstermen’s 2-0 home defeat to League Cup finalists Bradford.
Tottenham head coach Andre Villas-Boas is keen to build his team around Gareth Bale next season, and stressed that significant investment was required in order to bridge the small gap between themselves and Arsenal.
