Young musicians have been invited to perform together when the the National Youth Orchestra comes to Finsbury Park.

The orchestra is holding a series of music activities up and down the country with a touch of “rodeo”.

The tour includes a day of music making Skinners Academy in Woodberry Grove, Finsbury Park, on October 24.

Anyone aged 11 to 18 who plays an instrument at Grade 3 level or above is being invited to join and perform with other teenagers.

Those taking part work with the orchestra’s professional tutors and its conductor, Constança Simas, exploring US composer Aaron Copland’s famous Rodeo ballet music that includes Buckaroo Holiday, Ranch House Party and Hoe-Down.

The day ends with a “sharing performance” in front of friends and family, featuring NYO musicians performing Rodeo and the premiere of a new piece created by those taking part.

Young musicians are being invited to register online for the event at admin.nyo.org.uk and follow the link.
