A teenage boy was rushed to hospital after a car crashed into a fence at a primary school.

The boy, 16, was on a bicycle in Fleet Road, Belsize Park, when a car mounted the pavement and hit a fence outside Fleet Primary School on Saturday (May 11).

Police were called to the school at around 4pm to reports of the teenager being injured.

His condition is not life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police say.

According to the Met, "a number of occupants" of the vehicle left the scene before police arrived.

There have been no arrests at this time.

A picture shared on X shows a damaged car stuck on the pavement next to a collapsed fence at the school.

Fleet Road Primary School has said the school is open as normal despite the crash.
