The sculpture was in Altab Ali park in Whitechapel from December until last Friday and is one of several produced for charity SANE and erected in public spots across the country.

Black dogs have been used as a metaphor for depression through the ages with the term popularised by Winston Churchill to describe his darker moods.

The charity said the sculpture, along with others produced, will either be auction off or donated to schools after the campaign comes to end later this year.
