Boris Johnson was left dangling above Victoria Park this afternoon as the zipwire he was riding on ground unexpectedly to a halt.

The Mayor of London was at the Park joining in the Olympic celebrations, indulging in a game of “whiff whaff” before taking the ill-fated ride on the zipline.

The line ground to a halt around 20 metres before the end, with Mr Johnson left dangling for almost five minutes. He did, however, appear happy enough, waving union jacks and exchanging pleasantries with amused onlookers below.
