A CHARITY which offers hot meals, showers and clothes to the homeless is looking for 47 runners to join its team in a 10k run this summer.

In the last three months the Whitechapel Mission has served 13,245 breakfasts and offered 2,978 showers to homeless people.

It only offers night shelter when the temperature drops to zero and has been open overnight on 37 nights during this very cold winter pushing running costs up from the usual £1712 a day to £2,300 a day.

The charity which is based on Whitechapel Road is keen for more runners to join the London 2010 run on Sunday July 11 to help boost its funds.

Interested athletes should contact Jenny on 020 7 247 8280.
