BMW driver wanted after man killed in Whitechapel hit-and-run

Police are seeking the driver of a silver or grey BMW 1-series after a man was killed in Mansell Street last night.

The 59-year-old was hit just before 10.30pm last night and died in hospital at 12.30am. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver did not stop at the scene, and officers are asking anyone who saw anything, or who has seen a silver or white BMW woth extensive damage to the bonnet and windscreen to contact them by calling the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8597 4874, or via 101 or by tweeting @MetCC.
