Bow stabbings: two women victims named in court

Two women who were stabbed in Bow have been named in court as Jaqueline Ross and Jaqueline Clarke.

Ms Ross, who is in her 60s, was stabbed in the stomach as she walked along a path that runs between Legion Terrace and Garrison Road on her way back from buying fish and chips on Friday evening.

Ms Clarke, 57, was stabbed two days later in Parnell Road. She suffered wounds to her stomach and arm after being slashed at 17 times.

Both women were taken to hospital where their injuries were not deemed life threatening.

Ivor Collingwood-Williams, 36, of Garrison Road, Bow, was charged yesterday (Monday) with two counts of grevious bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Appearing in Thames Magistrates Court today, he was remanded in custody until September 25 when he will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

A 51-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of GBH on Sunday was released under investigation and will have no further action taken against him.
