A teenage boy was arrested at an unnamed address in east London this morning on suspicion of a terrorism offence.

Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command held the 17-year-old on suspicion of “dissemination of terrorist material”.

He was detained under PACE legislation and taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.

Enquiries continue with officers also searching an address in east London.

Police say the arrest is not connected to the investigation into the Parsons Green tube attack, which left 30 people with non-fatal injuries.
