Two men from East London are among the eight due in court today charged with the Hatton Garden raid over the Easter Weekend.

All eight who were arrested by the Met’s Flying Squad on Tuesday were charged last night with conspiracy to burgle and are due before Westminster magistrates.

They include 59-year-old William Lincoln from Winkley Street, off Temple Street, Bethnal Green, and 74-year-old John Collins from Blestoe Walk, off Sheperdess Walk in Shoreditch.

Others due in court with them are three men from Enfield aged 48 to 67, a man from Cheshunt aged 58 and a 76-year-old man and his son aged 50 from Dartford.

The charges come six weeks after raiders tunneled into a high-security building in Hatton Garden, drilling through a reinforced concrete wall to a vault in the basement. The contents of 56 safe deposit boxes were taken during the break-in on April 2.

A ninth man also arrested on Tuesday has been released on police bail pending further enquiries, Scotland Yard has confirmed.
