Archant

This is the haul of drugs seized by police after they broke into a car used by a suspected dealer in Poplar.

Officers filmed themselves using a baton to smash the rear window of the black vehicle parked in Woolmore Street yesterday.

An officer then retrieved the bag filled with cannabis and suspected class A drugs.

A total of 55 bags of cannabis worth around £1,100 and five filled with a white power were recovered in the operation.

The one-minute clip was uploaded on to the Poplar Safer Neighbourhood Team Twitter account with this message for the owner of the unregistered car: “@MPSPoplar have found your #cannabis - If you recognise this exhibit, the good news is Matt & Mick will be seeing you soon! Everyone else can follow the Poplar Twitter account to find out what happens next...”

There have been no arrests.

If you have any information call Poplar Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
