A MAN crawled out of this wreckage unscathed after the car overturned at high speed—then ran off as stunned bystanders looked on.

The saloon mounted the pavement, ploughed into an advertising billboard and flipped onto its roof in the smash outside the East London Advertiser’s offices in Cambridge Heath road, Bethnal Green, at 2.30am on Saturday morning (September 6).

Passers-by helped the driver out of the wreckage and called an ambulance.

But they were shocked when he crawled back inside the wreckage to retrieve his belongings before running off towards Three Colts Lane.

One witness said the man shouted “I’ll be back!” as he bolted, but never returned.

There were no other occupants in the car and nobody else was involved in the smash.

Police investigation the crash and were later trying to trace the driver.
