LAWYER Claire Poli is swapping her legal briefs for running briefs and trainers to pound the pavements of East London for a gruelling half-marathon. The 29-year-old solicitor from Shadwell in London’s Docklands is in training for the 13-mile run to raise cash for medical research after both her mother and her mother’s twin sister fought breast cancer twice. LAWYER Claire Poli is swapping her legal briefs for running briefs and trainers to pound the pavements of East London for a gruelling half-marathon.

The 29-year-old solicitor from Shadwell in London’s Docklands is in training for the 13-mile run to raise cash for medical research after both her mother and her mother’s twin sister fought breast cancer twice.

She makes the attempt on October 5 in Newcastle in the BUPA Great North Run for Breast Cancer campaign.

“It’s a miracle both my mother and aunt beat breast cancer twice,” she said.

“They receive excellent treatment and I’m running to help contribute to the campaign’s mission to beat the disease by funding medical research.”

Many women are not as lucky as her mother and aunt, she acknowledges.
