Narrow Street cycle highway logos to be removed after campaign

CAMPAIGNERS on Narrow Street who have successfully battled to get some of the cycle superhighway logos removed will not stop until the route is diverted.
After Cycle Superhighway 3 - running through the conservation area of Limehouse - was introduced last July, a campaign has been building to remove the “dangerous” blue logo blocks.
Transport for London officials have agreed to remove some of the logos on Narrow Street and on other parts of the route too.
Rae Hoffenberg of the Limehouse Residents Association, said: “All it will take is a fine skim of paint or tarring. It needs to be done urgently and we want all the logos removed and the route diverted to the A13.
“It’s dangerous and if something is not done there will be an accident. The street is too narrow for cyclists, cars, joggers and prams.”
A spokesman for TfL said: “We have agreed some of the logos will be removed as they will not affect safety or way-finding for cyclists. There is no evidence to suggest safety could be compromised on Narrow Street though so there are no immediate plans to move the route.”

Brick Lane Comedy Festival cancelled after opposition from community groups
