A new 50-metre mural designed by disabled housing association residents has been unveiled in Victoria Park.
The residents worked with artist Andrew Bolton to turn their ideas, which were based around their hopes and priorities for diasabled people, into reality.
Some of the most common themes put forward by the residents included access to public transport and events. The mural is part of a national scheme which is aimed at raising awareness of the difficulties faced by diasabled people when embarking on everyday tasks.
It was officially unveiled by Cllr Abdul Asad, lead member for adults, health and wellbeing.
He said: “We are working to ensure disability equality is part and parcel of our everyday business, and not merely reliant on the commitment of a few individuals.”
It can be found in the south east corner of Victoria Park, on Cadogan Terrace,
