The Hammersmith and City Line has severe delays and was suspended between Barking and Moorgate after frustrated passengers reportedly refused to get off an out of service train.

TfL said it stopped the line following a ‘customer incident’ at Plaistow and police were called to the east London station.

The driver could not shut the doors and asked everybody to disembark.

One passenger tweeted: “A defective train at Plaistow and passengers were refusing to get of train, causing a delay. Great work passengers! *slow clap*”
