Members and supporters of Ability Bow joined thousands of others at the Parallel London fun run at the Olympic Park, writes Emdad Rahman.

Parallel London is a fully inclusive mass participation event and suitable for all ages and abilities.

A number of races were organised for runners, including 100 metres, 1k, 5k, 10k and a super sensory 1k, with chip times recorded.

Visitors could also enjoy a free family festival, with nine zones hosting a celebration of inclusivity.

Ability Bow is a community gym based on the third floor of St Paul’s Church in east London.

The gym has the quirky appearance of the bottom of an upturned boat and there are portholes looking out towards the city.

Every item of equipment is fully accessible and easy to use, no matter what an individual’s physical ability, and donations can be made at viringmoneygiving.com/er7. See abilitybow.org for more.
