London Lions have announce the re-signing of Brandon Peel, one of the teams most popular players, for two seasons.

The six foot seven inch power forward graduated from the University of Central Connecticut in 2016 and spent a season in the ABA Pro League prior to joining the London Lions in September 2017.

Peel displayed fantastic maturity throughout the season. He was one of only three players to claim a monthly double-double after harvesting an impressive 15.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game – shooting an eye-catching 67% from the floor. He was also named Molten BBL Player of the Month for April.

London Lions Head Coach Vince Macaulay said: “Peel is a key force behind the team - a highly effective offensive player whilst strong on defence.

“He is a truly nice guy and has a direct impact on the performance and personality of the team.

“The fans will be happy to see those tentacle arms reaching out for rebounds and blocks once more”.

Peel added: “It feels great to be re-signing with the London Lions.

“My first season in London has been fantastic and the fans made me feel so welcome.

“I want to keep growing with the team and can’t wait to get back to training with the Lions”.

Peel will combine his time with a Masters Degree at the Lions’ official University partner, The University of East London. The new season starts in September.
