Rio Olympian set to fight in hometown for first time at The O2 on July 1

Cruiserweight prospect Lawrence Okolie looks to continue his explosive form when he appears on the Matchroom bill at The O2 on July 1.

However, finding an opponent is proving difficult for the former Repton amateur after he stopped his three earlier rivals in the opening round

Those wins took place in Manchester, Glasgow and Sheffield, and now the Rio Olympian gets his first London pro date on Eddie Hearn’s show.

Feature fights see another former Repton amateur, Frank Buglioni, defend his British light heavyweight title against Ricky Summers, while Matthew Ryan faces Ted Cheeseman for the English welter belt.

Also appearing are Conor Benn, Isaac Chamberlain, Danny Dignum and Joshua Buatsi.

Docklands cruiserweight Daniel Mendes goes for his fourth win in five pro bouts when he appears on the Goodwin promotions bill at York Hall on Saturday.

Danny Couzens against Ossie Jervier features on the usual packed bill, which includes Spiros Demetriou, Rakeem Noble, Josh Burnham and Dean Richardson.
