Essex Eagles skipper Ryan ten Doeschate is returning from the IPL for the first two NatWest T20 Blast matches.

He has flown back from India to lead the side against Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl tonight (Friday) and will take charge at the ECG against Surrey on Saturday at 1pm.

Head Coach Paul Grayson is delighted to have ten Doeschate back for these matches. “We are a little down on numbers in our squad at the moment, and Ryan coming back is such a boost to the whole club,” he said.

“He did well in his first stint as captain last year. We start with two tough games, but with Ryan back in the side, and a number of our players in good form, we’ll be looking for positive results from both.

“I’m sure the crowd at the ECG will be in good form on Saturday, and we will need that support against a good Surrey side.”

Come and watch the Eagles on Saturday against Surrey, with tickets still available in advance, and also a limited number will be on the gate.
