Sport returns to its 2012 Olympics home

Handball returns to Stratford’s Copper Box for the finals of the EHA National Cup on May 16.

The venue hosted the sport throughout the Olympics in 2012 and finals in the boys under-18, girls under-18, men’s and women’s competitions will take place.

East London will be well represented with two sides gunning for glory this weekend.

London GD men will take on Warrington Wolves in the final of the competition hoping to gain revenge for their final-day loss to the northerners which handed them the Super-8 League title.

There could be a fantastic double with the London GD women also in action as they play Coventry Sharks for the right to be crowned champions.

In the other matches, Peninsula’s under-18 boys and girls teams will be hoping for a clean sweep of trophies as they take on Deva and NEM Hawks respectively.

You can still buy tickets for the finals with online purchases just £10 for adults, £5 for under-16s, and free for under-11s accompanied by an adult.

There is also a special school package for £20 which admits one adult and five under-16s.

Payment on the door is £15 for adults and £7.50 for under-16s.

Tickets can be booked at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/england-handball-cup-finals-2015-tickets-16381251765?aff=efbevent. For more information, visit the England Handball website.
