Hamlets got off the mark first thanks to Wale Odedoyin and took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break before Tony Cookey equalised in the second-half to earn the Foxes a point.

The Foxes remain seventh in the Essex Senior League and Hamlets are still sat in ninth as both teams look to climb higher up the table.

Isaac Nkosi tweeted after the match: “Tough 1-1 draw today, again unlucky not to get all three points.

“Happy with my man of the match, yeah you guessed it #EnjoyYourFootball @Ilfordfcfoxes.”

AJ Ashanike’s men will now take on high-flying Basildon United at the Mile End Stadium tomorrow evening (Monday, 7.45pm).

While, Allan Fenn and Billy Cove’s men will travel to mid-table Sawbridgeworth Town on Saturday, as they continue to try mount a challenge of chasing down the top six.
