Supporters Direct and SKINS, a company which designs as well as manufactures sportswear, have organised a series of exclusive events to discuss regulatory reform of English Football and the latest ‘Fans Not Numbers’ roadshow will take place at Leyton Orient on Thursday.

The final meeting will occur at the end of this week at O’s Brisbane Road stadium in conjunction with Leyton Orient Fans’ Trust (LOFT).

Supporters are advised to attend the evening to discuss the state of football governance and ideas for the future in light of the crisis of ownership at a number of clubs in recent seasons, not least Orient until recently.

At the event you can hear a positive call for reform in English football, join the national debate to re-shape football’s future and be heard as Supporters Direct and SKINS take the plans to the government.

The event on Thursday will start at 7.30pm, but doors open at 7pm and everyone is free to attend, but advanced registration is essential, so visit eventbrite.co.uk/e/fans-not-numbers-london-tickets-37311054368 to make sure you are able to attend.

“Football is supposed to be for the fans, but more and more the way it is run is counter to fans’ interests,” wrote LOFT secretary Jonathan Kaye in Orient’s E10 match day programme earlier this month.

“Football has lost the plot in many ways and has forgotten why it’s there. That’s why LOFT is helping Supporters Director run one of the ‘Fans Not Numbers’ roadshows, to be held at Brisbane Road on September 14 to discuss football reform.

“That’s also why what’s just starting here at Leyton Orient feels special – a club that the fans have rallied behind in record-breaking numbers at home and away, where supporter engagement has been so noticeable from day once since Nigel (Travis) and Kent (Teague) took over, and where fans have been at the heart of everything. Where a future is starting to be built again, on the values of community and sustainability. Values the rest of football could do with rediscovering.”
