The O’s have won two of their last three games at home and even Saturday’s defeat to Bromley on their own turf was in credible circumstances

Leyton Orient goalkeeper Dean Brill is looking for the O’s to make Brisbane Road a tough place for opposition teams to visit in 2018.

The National League club have had mixed results on home soil this season, with their record in all competitions in E10 reading six wins, three draws and three defeats.

Orient suffered an unfortunate 1-0 loss at Brisbane Road against Bromley last weekend with Louis Dennis scoring the only goal of the game in the 22nd minute.

The O’s had Bondz N’Gala sent off after four minutes, yet created enough chances to claim the victory, but failed to take them with Josh Coulson going close with three headers, Macauley Bonne wasting two superb opportunities and Alex Lawless being denied.

Brill said: “We don’t want clubs to come to us and enjoy it. We have a great stadium with a great set of fans and it is obviously great for us to play at Brisbane Road, so we need to enjoy playing here which we are at the minute.

“We know it is a place where we are going to pick up points so we’ve got to carry that on and build on the positive performance we produced here last time against Bromley.”

After a busy opening 22 minutes, Brill was very much a spectator for the rest of the game against the Ravens.

The 32-year-old made routine saves to deny Adam Mekki and Dennis before the latter slotted past the O’s custodian midway through the first-half.

Bromley seemed happy to sit back after the opener and were fortunate Justin Edinburgh’s side didn’t punish them.

“When something like that (N’Gala’s red card) happens so early on in the game, it can go one of two ways,” said Brill.

“It could have been one where we have to defend for our lives and they put pressure on us and you concede and after the run we have had, we didn’t want that to happen, but the boys were fantastic to still be solid with 10-men and carry a real threat.”

What helped Orient at home to Bromley on Saturday was the support of a 5,227 crowd – a record for this campaign.

The O’s faithful really got behind the team like they had in the previous encounters at Brisbane Road against Dagenham & Redbridge and Sutton United.

Brill feels it is a two-way street, if Orient play well the fans will get behind them, he added: “It goes hand in hand.

“We’ve showed them we are up for the fight and they’ve backed us. They were backing us before and they were as frustrated as we were, but now I feel like we have really all come together and it does go hand in hand.”
