Calaum Jahraldo-Martin will be hoping his impressive display against Exeter City last weekend can earn him a place in Kevin Nolan’s first Leyton Orient team at Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow (Saturday).

The Hull City winger joined the O’s at the beginning of the month, but has only played around 60 minutes in League Two.

He was a late substitute against Stevenage on January 2, but did get introduced at half time against the Grecians.

While the east Londoners lost 3-1 last Saturday, the 22-year-old helped create two penalties for the home team.

Now he hopes it is enough to earn him a first Orient start under new player-manager Nolan at Adams Park this weekend.

“People have been here long before me so I have got to bid my time,” said Jahraldo-Martin, speaking after Saturday’s match.

“But hopefully I have shown in my last few performances that I am worth a start now.

“It was frustrating not to get straight into the football because of the two-week break, but these things happen and I just need to take it one game at a time.”

On Saturday, the Tigers ace played behind the forwards in a diamond formation in midfield.

It is unknown what type of style Nolan will implement at Brisbane Road, but Jahraldo-Martin has insisted he is versatile.

He also revealed which players in the Orient squad he knew already before agreeing a one-month loan with the League Two club.

Jahraldo-Martin added: “I can play on the wings or behind the striker like against Exeter so I can play anywhere, I am versatile.

“I have known Frazer Shaw before as well as Jay Simpson and Jobi McAnuff so I knew a few of the lads and have settled in well.

“We just need to come back stronger from the Exeter defeat. We need to look at ourselves instead of the manager and take some responsibility.”

The previous Orient boss paid the price for their loss last weekend and now a new man is in charge.

Nolan’s appointment has generally been met with excitement and Jahraldo-Martin will hope to show why against Wycombe on Saturday.
