The 29-year-old looked ahead to facing Ebbsfleet United and old team-mate Ebou Adams

Josh Coulson is hoping Leyton Orient can give the fans plenty to shout about during tonight’s National League home match with Ebbsfleet United.

The O’s will entertain the Kent club looking to build on an encouraging 1-1 draw at Salford City on Saturday.

Orient equalised late on to salvage a deserved point and were backed up 667 away fans at Moor Lane.

Another large crowd can be expected at the Breyer Group Stadium this evening and O’s will look to make the most of a much better surface this season after good work by groundsman Colin James in the summer.

Coulson said: “Ebbsfleet will be a tough game, but the pitch will make it a bit easier for us to play at home now.

“Everyone could see how it was against Southend United. We are not trying to make excuses, but it was tough to play on last season.

“This time around we haven’t got any excuses and we want to have good home form. When the place is rocking it is an amazing place to play at, so let’s hope we can make it like that a lot.”

Orient will come up against a few familiar faces this evening with ex-loan men Ebou Adams and Jack Payne part of the Fleet squad.

Many O’s supporters had expected Adams to sign after a successful spell in E10 last season, but he chose to link up with Fleet instead.

He has already made an impression with his new club after scoring a wonder goal in a 2-0 win over Gillingham in a friendly on July 21.

Coulson joked the Orient squad will be desperate to prevent his old team-mate doing something similar tonight.

“I have played against a lot of their players and Ebou is there and what’s happened has happened,” said the defender.

“He is at Ebbsfleet now and we will be coming up against him. I saw on Twitter he scored a good goal recently, so let’s hope we don’t give him a chance to do that! “Again, we will do our preparation right and prepare properly. We want to start strong, so let’s see what happens.”
