Leyton Orient chairman Francesco Becchetti to meet potential buyers this week

Two groups have registered an interest in east London club and will meet Italian owner this week

Leyton Orient chairman Francesco Becchetti is set to meet two potential buyers this week over the proposed sale of the recently relegated club.

A statement put out by O’s in January revealed the Italian was willing to listen to offers and had rejected one bid.

But despite talk of potential buyers registering an interest in Orient, no further news has emerged from the club since.

Speculation in recent weeks has suggested O’s fan Nigel Travis is close to completing a deal to buy the Brisbane Road outfit.

And it is now understood the chief executive of Dunkin’ Donuts is set to meet Becchetti at some point this week.

The Italian is also set to have a meeting with another group this week who have registered an interest in buying the east Londoners.

It is at last some positive news for Orient fans, but with the club set to appear in court on June 12, talks need to progress quickly.
