Leyton Orient lost for just the second time at Brisbane Road this season on Saturday to Accrington Stanley with Josh Windass scoring the only goal of the game.

The O’s actually started with a great tempo and had numerous opportunities to take the lead inside the opening 24 minutes.

Unfortunately they didn’t and the visitors punished them, and after that Ian Hendon’s men struggled to break down the away side.

Alex Cisak (7) – Nothing the Aussie could do about the goal and didn’t have much to do all afternoon, although did spill one effort before half time.

Sean Clohessy (7) – Right-back wasn’t as prominent as usual but defended quite well, just couldn’t influence the game as he would like in an attacking sense.

Mathieu Baudry (6.5) – Poor piece of defending for the goal as he was out of position for the goal and then appealed for offside, but did urge side to respond.

Connor Essam (6) – Youngster really should have put O’s ahead with first half chance and then for Stanley’s winner allowed Windass to run off him.

Adam Chicksen (6) – Poor afternoon from the Brighton man, who has now returned to his parent club. He slowed the pace of Orient down so much and took far too much time on the ball when they need urgency.

Jack Payne (6.5) – Midfielder seemed unhappy that Billy Kee was in so much space for the goal after closing down an Accrington opponent. Didn’t do much wrong on Saturday, but not as influential as usual.

Bradley Pritchard (6) – Like Chicksen a disappointing display from somebody who is normally so reliable. His crossing wasn’t great and passing off at times too, has seemed a bit tired in recent games.

Sammy Moore (6.5) – Quiet performance from the former AFC Wimbledon man, although did try to put his foot in. Subbed in second half.

John Marquis (6) – Played for just over half an hour, but always seemed to be on a tight rope after receiving early booking. Things might have been so different had he found the net with low volley.

Jay Simpson (6) – Frustrating game for the League Two top goalscorer as nothing fell for him and he was playing off scraps.

Ollie Palmer (6.5) – One of few who were troubling Stanley, but just lacked quality when he needed it. Should have scored in first and second half, but never gave up and worked so hard.

Substitutes:

Dean Cox, for Marquis 34. (6.5) – Orient’s talisman gave everything to try and get his side back in the game. He delivered some good crosses, but couldn’t produce the quality that was required.

Lloyd James, for Moore 59. (6) – He couldn’t build on his impressive cameo at Morecambe as he struggled to get on the ball.

Scott Kashket, for Essam 76. (6) – Little impact this time from the super sub last time out at Brisbane Road.
