French defender talks about life in east London, thanks O’s supporters and reveals satifaction with point at Plymouth

Jean-Yves M’voto believes he has settled in well at Leyton Orient after getting through two 90 minutes this week.

The French defender only officially joined the east London club on Saturday afternoon just before the match with York City.

He went on to play the whole game and help the O’s pick up three points as they defeated the Minstermen 3-2.

And then yesterday (Tuesday) he was involved from the off again and played his part as Ian Hendon’s men drew 1-1 with League Two leaders Plymouth Argyle.

“I feel I have settled in well actually, the players have been good and it is a good group,” M’voto told the official club website.

“They are really nice and funny and everybody gets on really well so it is pleasing for me.

“We are a little bit disappointed to only draw at Plymouth because we had the chances to get the three points.

“It was a good performance overall so we can’t be too unhappy about it and have to take the point away from home.”

Orient had 198 fans at Home Park cheering them on and they would have been delighted when Jay Simpson opened the scoring after four minutes.

The division’s top goalscorer was forced off before half time, however, after suffering a twisted ankle with Lloyd James replacing him.

M’voto praised the away support and also allayed any fears that Simpson could be set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

He said: “Jay did give us a good start and after he was taken off, but I think he is okay.

“The manager took the precaution to take him off, but afterwards the other players did the job so it was good.

“It is a long journey for the away fans. Thanks to them for coming to Plymouth, it was difficult for them to come down because it is a bit far.

“But it was worth it for the supporters because it was a good game to watch so I hope they enjoyed it.”

Orient fans would have been pleased with M’voto too and he seems an excellent addition by Hendon.
