Improving Luton visit E10 tomorrow, but Orient want another home victory

Leyton Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan has urged his team to keep their unbeaten run going when they host Luton Town at Brisbane Road this weekend.

The Hatters make the trip to east London in a good vein of form themselves having won their last three matches under new boss Nathan Jones.

But with the O’s picking up a point at Carlisle United on Tuesday night, they are now keen to get another home success.

Since Nolan’s appointment they have triumphed five times, drawn once and lost twice.

Nolan is now keen for them to pick up back-to-back victories in E10 after seeing off Crawley Town 2-0 last Saturday.

“We have just taken 16 points out of my eight games and that’s fantastic form,” said Nolan.

“We have to take the positives out of the Carlisle match because we are all disappointed right now.

“But we have had two good wins over the last two weeks and now a draw on Tuesday.

“Now we have a home fixture with Luton, which is going to be difficult and we have to try and find a way to keep this undefeated run going.”

Orient’s point at Brunton Park kept them seventh in the League Two table and firmly on course to finish in the play-off places.

Another victory this weekend is required, however, even if the Hatters are starting to improve their form.

Saturday’s match will give fans an opportunity to see Kevin Nugent again, after the former O’s first team coach left in January before joining Luton.

Nolan was full of praise for the 179 Orient supporters who made the trip up to Carlisle on Tuesday and reiterated his desire to achieve success with the club.

“The fans have been fantastic since I came in and I’m delighted with the way they have responded to me,” he added.

“I’m hoping that they can see I’m working my socks off to try and get myself fit and playing good football.

“Bit by bit I’m trying to implement new stuff to the lads. I was disappointed with a few things at Carlisle, but I will share that with them. We will go from there and look towards Luton.

“I’m really positive about the group I have. I think they have responded fantastically to me since I’ve taken over. I’m delighted with them all and hoping we can keep working hard and start getting success together.”
