East Londoners have won just once in their last four home matches

Leyton Orient boss Kevin Nolan is determined to find his team’s winning formula at Brisbane Road.

The O’s were beaten 4-0 by League Two leaders Northampton Town in E10 last time out and lost 3-1 to Cambridge United in the previous encounter in east London.

While they have won every single away game they’ve played under the new player-manager, O’s have only picked up three points out of a possible nine at home.

Crawley Town visit Brisbane Road on Saturday and Orient will be focused on getting a victory.

“We will be looking at what we have done in the last few matches at home and hopefully I will be smiling after the game on Saturday,” said Nolan.

“I think the Orient fans are great, they’ve given us enough support and been fantastic. I asked them to give us some patience because the last two matches at Brisbane Road haven’t been good enough. I know that and the players know that.

“We’re trying to re-establish our thoughts and philosophy at home and we have to get it right. First and foremost we have to stop leaking goals the way we have done.

“Before I came in we let three in against Exeter City, then we had a clean sheet at home and the last two we have let seven in. That is 10 goals in four matches with one clean sheet in between and that’s not acceptable.

“It doesn’t matter if you are playing at home and you want to have this expansive football, yes that is fantastic and great, but we have got to make sure we keep the back door locked.”

Crawley beat Ian Hendon’s side 3-2 back in October, but have only triumphed once in their last six games and therefore Nolan will be looking to get his second home success this weekend.

The Reds have a good record against Orient though, winning six of the seven previous meetings between the two clubs.

Nolan’s men will be hoping to change that and get another positive result which could see them get back into the play-off positions.

Even though they beat Notts County 1-0 last weekend, results elsewhere mean they are 10th ahead of Saturday’s fixture at Brisbane Road and a point off the top seven.

He added: “Listen they’re all going to be big wins from now until the end of the season. I’ve challenged the lads, myself and everyone working at the club to make sure we try to get in the play-offs.

“We’re going to give it our best crack and the only way we’re going to do that is by going on unbeaten runs.”
