Justin Edinburgh will be hoping to see his O’s team win their first home game for two-and-a-half months

Leyton Orient will look to earn their first home win of 2018 tonight when Torquay United visit Brisbane Road in the National League.

Since the O’s defeated local rivals Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day, they’ve played six times on their own turf and not claimed a single victory.

Draws have mostly occurred, against the likes of Boreham Wood, Tranmere Rovers, Gateshead (FA Trophy) and Ebbsfleet United, but they have also lost to Bromley and Aldershot Town.

Torquay, at least on paper, represent a great opportunity to return to winning ways at home with the Gulls 23rd in the table and struggling.

It was a similar situation on November 25 though, when Orient travelled to Devon and on that occasion they came unstuck – suffering a 3-0 loss at Plainmoor.

O’s will be out for revenge this evening and boss Justin Edinburgh knows they need to get a positive result.

He said: “It is important we get a win. We want to win in front of our home fans and that’s what we’re always trying to do and hopefully it will come against Torquay.”

Dan Happe missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Ebbsfleet with a slight groin injury and will be pushing to return to the matchday squad tonight.

Joe Widdowson was also absent with the illness which is going through the camp, but Orient’s head coach is hopeful they’re nearly over the worst of their fitness problems.

Edinburgh added: “Dan’s injury was his groin from the Gateshead game and Joe was another to pick up the illness, but we’re hoping we are coming out the other end of it now, so we’ll have to wait and see.”

The 48-year-old also provided some positive news about Jobi McAnuff at the start of this week and he appears to be edging closer to a return.
