Player-manager Kevin Nolan set to make changes following Northampton Town defeat

Leyton Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan could make changes to his team for the clash at Notts County today (Saturday).

It is a crucial match for the O’s as they look to get back into the League Two play-off positions and respond after the 4-0 defeat to Northampton Town last weekend.

The east Londoners are ninth in the table with 46 points ahead of facing the Magpies, who sit 14th in the standings.

Nigel Atangana was on the substitute’s bench last Saturday, but could return in midfield at Meadow Lane.

Meanwhile Nolan suggested that he might look to put somebody up top with leading goalscorer Jay Simpson.

He has not been on target since the victory over Newport County on January 26 and gone three games without finding the net now.

“What happens when you are in such a rich vein of form, people notice you and start to make your life a bit more difficult,” said Nolan.

“I have noticed since I have come in that Jay is one of the most marked men in the division. It is something that me and him could probably work on to get better.

“Maybe we’ll look at putting someone up with him for Notts County. It is something we can decide.”

Orient are without Paul McCallum and Dean Cox as both work their way back from knee ligament injuries.

Lloyd James is edging closer to a return from his achilles problem, but isn’t expected to be involved this afternoon.
