Newham pupils bid to win under-13 trophy

Newham’s Royal Docks Community School will bid to win a national title at Reading’s Madejski Stadium on Tuesday.

The east London youngsters will face Kings’ School from Chester in the final of the ESFA’s Under-13 Small Schools’ Trophy, sponsored by PlayStation.

And fellow pupils from Royal Docks have been invited along to support their friends and enjoy a number of activities including PlayStation®4 gaming experiences, free giveaways, half-time entertainment for spectators and live commentary for each game.

Over 5,000 spectators watched the three-day festival last year and it is hoped that figure can be surpassed next week, with 15 finals being played.

For those who cannot attend, the matches will be streamed online at playstationschoolscup.com.

A total of 19 cup competitions have been staged in 2014/15 and involved nearly 2,000 schools and 100,000 participants from under-12 to under-15.

Each new school involved in the competitions have received a PlayStation Kit Bag, featuring a match day football, training bibs and supporters’ flags to support their sports department.
