It was another bad week for Leyton Orient as they slumped to the foot of the League Two table following losses at home to Grimsby (3-0) and away at Accrington ‘Who Are They?’ Stanley (5-0).

The double defeat leaves Danny Webb’s men seven points adrift of safety, with nine games remaining, and with a court appearance looming on Monday, over a winding-up petition.

They are certainly dark days at Brisbane Road, where leaders Doncaster are the next visitors this weekend.

Neighbours West Ham, meanwhile, prepare to host fallen Premier League champions Leicester City at London Stadium, after contrasting weeks for the two clubs.

The Hammers came away from Bournemouth, who were winless in 2017, empty-handed after Josh King inspired the Cherries to a 3-2 win on the south coast.

England call-up Michail Antonio and Andre Ayew found the net for Slaven Bilic’s men, who also saw the hosts miss two penalties.

Leicester, meanwhile, have won their last two Premier League matches under new manager Craig Shakespeare to pull away form the relegation zone and will be England’s only representatives in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after beating Sevilla in midweek.

Bilic will be without captain Mark Noble, due to a dead leg, as his side look to upset the form book.

Dagenham & Redbridge managed to do that last weekend with a late 2-1 win over promotion rivals Forest Green Rovers at Victoria Road.

Scott Doe headed the winner, after former Daggers striker Christian Doidge had cancelled out Jordan Maguire-Drew’s opener.

And Daggers will look to keep their National League hopes alive as they make the long trip to Cumbria to take on Barrow this weekend.

Correspondents Dave Evans, George Sessions and Ned Keating share their thoughts on their clubs, as well as matters from the Essex Senior League, in our latest podcast presented by Archant’s digital specialist project manager Matt Withers.

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.
