Former Chelsea trainee is snapped up

West Ham have announced that Jordan Hugill was not the only permanent signing in the January transfer window.

They have also added striker Oladapo Afolayan from National League outfit Solihull Moors to their squad.

The 20-year-old front man certainly has an affinity with east London, scoring at Leyton Orient this season and in his final game for Moors, he came on as a substitute and scored against Dagenham & Redbridge.

A former Chelsea Academy player, “Dapo” had widened his football education in Canada with Toronto before returning to England to complete his studies at Loughborough University.

He scored 16 goals in 38 appearances for Solihull and will join the West Ham under-23 set-up under Terry Westley.
