West Ham captain was left seething after the final whistle at the antics of Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The pair tussled in the centre circle and had to be restrained by other players and the skipper was still not happy when he met the press.

“It is what it is, it’s football,” reflected Noble. “To be honest, I’ve played 400 and something games for this club and I have had many battles.

“But I have always said that you can battle for 90 minutes and you can kick lumps out of each other, but you always shake hands afterwards.”

It seems that the Frenchman said something to the West Ham skipper, but he was being careful about what he said.

“It was his attitude, I didn’t like his attitude,” said Noble.

“I am not going to say anything about what he said, because I know what you lot are going to write.

“It will be all rubbish which you shouldn’t do, rather than write about the game.”

Noble can’t quite resist though and he wasn’t prepared to quite leave it there.

“If I am honest, I wasn’t happy with how he went about things,” said the midfield man.

“You battle with many a player during a game, but afterwards you always look each other in the eye and shake hands.”

It would seem that Cabaye is probably off the Noble Christmas card list this year.
