West Ham defender hails impact of Lanzini

Hammers centre back Angelo Ogbonna says the little man is the key to West Ham success
It was the heroics of Hammer of the Year Dimitri Payet who stole the headlines with his dramatic injury-time free kick in the 1-0 EFL Cup third round win over Accrington Stanley.
But for defender Angelo Ogbonna there is someone else in the team who is every bit as important as the France international midfielder.
“Whenever Dimi comes on to the field he changes the game,” said the Italian centre back. “But not only Dimi, but Manuel Lanzini as well.
“He can keep the ball and change the situation, so both them are very important for us and they showed the different levels we have in our squad.”
Both Payet and the Argentinian Lanzini came on at the break after a disappointing first half against their League Two opponents.
And Lanzini certainly played his part as West Ham began to exert some pressure, going close with a shot that keeper Elliot Parish could only palm away and also finding space and going past players.
It certainly impressed team-mate Ogbonna.
“I think the key is Lanzini,” he said. “He can keep the ball and him and Dimi play well together.
“Dimi needs someone like Lanzini because he can find space and run with the ball. He looks small, but he is not small at all, he is so tough and I think he is good for us.
“Both of them keep a good balance for us.”
