Hammers hope to save season

Struggling side host Aces

The Vortex Lakeside Hammers are aiming to turn their season around when they welcome Belle Vue Aces to Arena Essex tomorrow (Friday).

The Hammers will be at full strength, with Andreas Jonsson back to lead the team at number one, and Edward Kennett having recovered from a hand injury.

Co-promoter Jon Cook, who takes charge of the team as Neil Vatcher will be away on Under-21 duty, said: “Belle Vue bring a tough challenge, strengthened by guests, but it’s our team that has the class to show the fans that we have what it takes to rescue the season.

“I can guarantee to all our supporters that we will give our all come Friday night to get us back to winning ways.”

The meeting parade is scheduled to start at 7.45pm, with the first race at 8pm.

In addition there will be three demonstration races involving youngsters from the Hagon Shocks Academy at 7.30pm before the main Elite League match.

Tickets are available at the gate, or can be purchased in advance via the homepage of the Hammers site.
