Lakeside Hammers fans can grab the perfect Christmas present – a full season of Championship speedway.

The club is on their way back to professional racing after securing promotion from the National League after just one season and have assembled an exciting team for the 2018 Championship league campaign.

Season tickets are now available and existing holders have until January 15, 2018 to enjoy a discount price as a thank you for their continued backing of the club.

Hammers promoter Jon Cook said: “The buzz around the club is palatable and it’s not been like this since perhaps as long ago as 2008.

“We have a new committee in place helping behind the scenes to add more pizazz into our promotion, a team that has everyone talking and we are in a league that many Hammers fans have told me feels like the clubs home.

“Team building wise it hasn’t all been plain sailing and having early targets made ineligible was a challenge but we’ve benefited too with BSPA (British Speedway Promoters’ Association) confirmation that Ben and Zach are on their actual 2016 tier two figures and to have riders of the absolute quality of Nick (Morris) and Richard (Lawson) to lead us and all seven riders taking little or no persuasion to become Hammers has made my job rather easy.

“This league will be a new challenge for Stuart (Douglas) and I and looking at the absolute quality of riders and the massive city clubs it’s an experience we are looking forward to just as much as any other Hammers fans.

“Off track we’ve already had a very fruitful first meeting with the Raceway sites new owners and I think it’s hard to see how we could be better placed at this stage of the close season, the task now is to carry this feel-good factor into March.”
