London Lions have confirmed that Flo Larkai will suit up once more at the Copper Box as they announce he has re-signed ahead of the new season.

After stepping into the breach in January of this year, Larkai became a positive influence on the Lions as they marched to the O2 for the Playoff Finals.

A veteran who has played across the world, the Great Britain International will conclude the second year of a Master’s Degree at the University of London.

Lions boss Vince Macaulay said: “Flo is very important for what we want to do in London, providing the opportunity for young Brits and veterans alike to come and play in London is a stated aim of ours.

“Justin Robinson, at the peak of his powers, is gracing the Olympic Park and Jordan Spencer, about to launch his career, is doing the same.

“Flo preparing for life after basketball shows the way for a lot of our players.

“The fact that he can do that and still be a force in the paint, as he was last term with his numbers of six points, five rebounds and hitting 54 per cent from the field in just 14 minutes, is testament to his professionalism.”

Larkai added: “Playing in London, at home, comes with a lot of pride, we fell one short of our goal last season, but that has only fired us up even more, I’m glad to say 2018-19 I’m back in the hunt with my coalition – We are London.”

Larkai’s signing means the Lions return seven players from last season alongside new boys, Jordan Spencer, Ladarius Tabb and Kervin Bristol. The BBL season tips off at the Copper Box, on September, 21, when the Glasgow Rocks are the visitors.
